Braves Sweep the Brewers With Dominance

After a slow start the braves are now headed in the right direction. Now the braves are 16-18. During the sweep of the brewers the braves outscored them 28-7. So now the braves have one day of rest then open up a seven game homestead. Now everybody know the bats can hit when they are needed. The game mvp's for game 3 was:

Moylan, Saito and Wagner - 3IP 1H 0ER 2BB/3K
Jason Heyward - 1-for-3, 2BB 1 RBI 3R
Derek Lowe - 6IP 6H 2ER 2BB/2K

Eric Hinske - 2-for-4, RBI

When I saw this i was stunned that Brooks Conrad wasn't in here. He had a homer, double, and had 4 RBI's. While taking the duty of Chipper Jones at 3rd base. Next game is Friday vs the diamondbacks.

Braves Finishing Road Trip at the Brewers

And the braves need to get out of this road trip. So far in this road trip the braves are 2-4. with an overall record of 13-18. So this brewers series can be very crucial to get back into the NL East action. Even if we sweep them we will be 16-18. Which i don't think we will do. I think we will win 2/3 and come out of the road trip with a record of 4-5 with an overall record of 15-18. When we get home we one day of rest then its back to work. The overall homestead is 7 games. The first three come against the diamondbacks. Then we have a short two game series with the mets. Then another two game series with the reds. Lets Go Braves!

Braves Open Up Important Series vs The Nationals

The Braves will open up this series tonight at 7:05 est. Right now the braves are 11-14. While the Nationals are 13-12. The Braves are on a 3 game winning streak after losing 9 straight. The Nationals are on a 2 game losing streak. If the Braves win 2 games out of 3 they will be tied for 4th place possibly 3rd if the Marlins lose to the Giants. (the Marlins have the same record as the Nationals). If the Braves sweep the Nationals they will be ahead of the Nationals, so they will move in the 3rd or 4th place. Depending how well the Marlins do vs the Giants. Go Braves!!

The Braves Look To End Losing Ways This Weekend

The last time the Brave have won a game was last Tuesday. Yea thats way to long. The Braves need to get out of this slump. They were 8-6, now they are 8-14 after a 8 game losing streak. The past series for the Braves have been to the Phillies, which they only one 1 out of 3, (if you want more phillies coverage click here). Then they got swept by the Mets and the St. Louis Cardinals. If you can remember I predicted in my post "Braves Continue To Struggle" that the Braves wouldn't start winning again until they opened up the series against the Houston Astros. To see if I am correct to will have to tune in to see the Braves take on the Astros starting Friday and ending Sunday. So long until then.

Mike Woodson Leaving ATL ?

Hawks coach Mike Woodson said Tuesday there have been no talks on a new contract with Atlanta, even amid reports that he'll be a candidate to take another job after the season.

The most persistent report is that Woodson could wind up as Philadelphia's coach, which is based on Larry Brown leaving Charlotte to become the 76ers' general manager. Brown has denied that he's planning to leave the Bobcats.

Woodson, who worked as an assistant to Brown in Detroit, said he wants to remain with the Hawks.

Braves Continue To Struggle

The Braves are now two games below .500, sitting at 8-10. The Braves are on a five game losing streak thanks to a a five inning game last night that was canceled by rain. The Braves are now three games behind Philadelphia for the top spot in the NL East. They also continue their current road strip as they head to take on St. Louis for four straight days. I don't see them getting out of this slump until they play Houston this weekend. Only time will tell though. Make It or Break It for the Braves

As I am typing this the braves lost yet another game to the New York Mets. According to www.espn.com the Braves are in last place in the NL east. A place where they shouldn't belong. Just late last week they were tied for 1st place in the NL east. Now they find themselves in last place by 0.5 games. Don't expect them to be there for long. The Braves have one more game against the Mets on Sunday 4/25. Then they open up a four day series in St. Louis to cap off a seven game road series. The season isn't over yet. Go Braves!

Titans Draft Picks

The Titans finished one of the most solid drafts they've ever had, making 6 defensive picks, and 3 offensive picks. Every need they had was filled through the draft, including DE in first rounder Derrick Morgan, CB in fourth rounder Alterraun Verner, LB in third rounder Rennie Curran, and returner in third rounder Damian Williams. It was a good weekend to be a Titans fan. Click on the player's name for MCM coverage on the pick.

Braves lose Chipper on his B-day

NEW YORK -- Chipper Jones made a quick exit on his 38th birthday.

Jones injured a hip on his first swing of the day and came out after 2½ innings of the Atlanta Braves' 3-1 loss to the New York Mets on Saturday.

The third baseman thinks he will be sidelined for several games.

"It popped," he said. "I couldn't push off at all."

Jones thought he might have hurt a tendon in the hip. At first he stayed in the game but took a pair of called third strikes.

"I've never had that happen before, in football or anything," he said. "It still hurts after I've had ice and everything."

He left an April 8 game against the Chicago Cubs after three innings when he strained his right oblique during batting practice and pain intensified. He missed the following three-game series at San Francisco, then returned April 12 at San Diego.

"I felt it a little last night but it wasn't serious," Jones said, "In BP, I was fine."

Jones usually has stellar birthdays. He's a career .419 hitter (18 for 43) on his birthday with three doubles, four homers and 10 RBIs, according to STATS LLC.

Atlanta dropped to 9-2 when he plays on his birthday. The other defeat was 11-6 at Houston in 2001, when he homered twice.

Martin Prado wasn't in the lineup because of a sore hamstring. He replaced Jones at third base in the third inning.

"He was mad he wasn't starting," Braves manager Bobby Cox said. "I think a day off would have been good for him.
